Annual VAT Summit in Budapest

The 23rd Annual VAT Summit, organised by the VAT Forum, took place from 21 to 23 May in Budapest, bringing together tax professionals and experts from all around Europe. Carolina Pecero (Tax) attended the event, which provided an in-depth discussion of the latest regulatory developments and key challenges in the field of VAT.

Key topics discussed during the various sessions included the European Commission’s legislative proposals, such as the “VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA)” initiative, taxpayers’ rights in the context of digitalisation, and the differences in the application of VAT between different European jurisdictions. In addition, practical approaches to VAT deduction restrictions based on exempt or non-business activities were presented, as well as different calculation methods.

Our professionals attend such events to keep updated in an increasingly complex and constantly evolving European tax environment, with the aim of continuing to offer our clients rigorous, internationally oriented technical advice that is up to date.
