Tax and labour perspectives for 2025

Two conferences organised by the French Chamber of Commerce in Barcelona and the Franco-Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Madrid, in collaboration with Bové Montero, analysed the main tax and employment developments for 2025. These meetings, held on 18 and 25 February, brought together experts to discuss the business challenges of the coming year.

One of the main topics was the new global minimum tax (Pillar 2), with the participation of Felipe Rubio, Head of the Department of Advance Valuation Agreements of the National Office of International Taxation (ONFI), the unit responsible for centralised planning of actions and the establishment of uniform criteria of action for the entire Tax Agency in matters of international taxation.

In Madrid, Bové Montero’s speakers were François Blin (Partner), Andreu Bové (Partner) and José Luis Gómez (Partner), who shared their vision on tax and labour matters. In Barcelona, Belén Fernández (Partner), José Luis Gómez (Partner) and Francisco Javier Rodríguez (Tax Director) attended the event and highlighted the challenges that companies will face in 2025. Felipe Rubio was also present at both sessions, offering his perspective from ONFI.

One of the most important topics we addressed was Pillar 2, which is currently considered to be the biggest tax challenge that large groups will face in the coming years. We also analysed the new measures in the labour field, such as the reduction of working hours, the digital register of working hours, the solidarity contribution or the transparency of salaries, among others.

The meetings allowed professionals to update their knowledge and stimulate debate. The Madrid event was held at the headquarters of the Franco-Spanish Chamber of Commerce, while the Barcelona event was held at the Círculo Ecuestre. Both conferences reaffirmed the collaboration between Bové Montero and the Chambers of Commerce, consolidating their commitment to business training for the challenges of 2025.
