On 25 April, Andreu Bové, Tax Partner, and Francisco Javier Rodríguez, Tax Director, both professionals of Bové Montero, participated in the seminar of the International Association of Young Lawyers in Frankfurt, organised by AIJA. Andreu Bové was also a speaker at the conference entitled “Maximising efficiency – the classic question: Share deals vs. asset deals in sustainable real estate transactions”.

The event was entitled “Building a Sustainable Future: Exploring the intersection of tax and real estate”, aimed at young lawyers, focused on key issues such as the dynamic relationship between tax regulations, real estate practices and environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations.

Francisco Javier Rodríguez Sánchez and Andreu Bové Boyd, our international tax experts, joined the discussions that addressed specific examples and real-life situations to enhance their experience and skills in adapting to changes in ESG-related tax regulations.

With a particular focus on sustainability, the seminar explored the impact of tax policies on ESG initiatives within the real estate sector. Strategies for aligning financial objectives with sustainable development goals were highlighted, as well as tax incentives for green real estate projects and the critical role of ESG reporting and disclosure in tax compliance.

The participants enjoyed interesting discussions, case studies and practical examples that provided them with useful tools to adapt to changes in ESG tax rules and promote responsible real estate practices.

This seminar was a great opportunity to discover how the nexus between tax, real estate and ESG can have a positive impact and help build a more sustainable future in the legal and business world.
