Last November Maria Luisa Ramirez (Audit) had the privilege of attending the University-Audit Dialogue Conference organised by the Association of chartered accountants of Catalonia and the University of Barcelona.
During the session it was commented that “there is a long way to go” in terms of team mainstreaming in view of the forthcoming approval of the new Spanish transposition law and, from this point of view, the ¨importance of training¨ was defended.
On the other hand, it was also argued that “both at an educational and professional level, sustainability must be integrated into the value chain” with the purpose of “aligning the objectives established by it in our respective daily activities”.
Before concluding and as a corollary, it was insisted that “the long-term trend is for financial and non-financial reports to become a single corporate report, so we must work decisively to train new professionals.”
The day began with an in-depth look at the current state of sustainability, where different speakers shared valuable insights. The complexity and importance of external verification of sustainability reports was masterfully discussed, underlining the need for transparency and rigour in our corporate reports.
This event was not only a space for learning, but also for connection and dialogue between professionals who share the same passion for a more sustainable future.
