The third Annual Congress of the Institute of German Auditors (IDW) was held in Bonn on 14 and 15 September, attended by José María Bové, founder and president, and Ilídio César Ferreira, audit partner.
During the two-day event, important topics for the profession and its current context were discussed, such as the new world order, current tax policy projects and the main challenges facing auditors in Germany in the coming years.
Attendees were also able to acquire additional knowledge in group sessions on auditing, accounting, consulting, and taxation. These focused on data analytics, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and advances in auditing today.
The ¨Institut der Wirtschaftsprüfer in Deutschland¨ (IDW) is a private organisation based in Düsseldorf, founded to serve the interests of its members, comprising both German auditors and German auditing firms. It was founded in 1932 and currently has about 12,000 members.
José María Bové and Ilídio César Ferreira were appointed extraordinary members of the IDW in 2022 in recognition of their long careers and experience as Statutory Auditors of German companies with presence in Spain.
