The 1st Catalan Congress on Sustainability took place on 24th May. A pioneering event in the region that was held in the emblematic Ateneu Barcelonés and in which Bové Montero y Asociados had the opportunity to take part as one of its sponsors.
Organised by the Association of Economists of Catalonia and the Association of Chartered Accountants of Catalonia, the congress aimed to address the different current and future issues concerning sustainability and the new EU directive on sustainability.
During the event, participants discussed how companies and the main sectors of the Catalan economy are facing the challenges and opportunities of sustainability. They also addressed the positive impacts of sustainable finance, public tendering, and large clients in this area, and how organisations and professionals report and communicate their commitment to sustainability.
The meeting was attended by Santiago Durán, president of the Spanish Institute of Accounting and Auditing, and Xavier Carbonell, academic director, and director of the Cátedra Mango of Corporate Social Responsibility at ESCI-UPF.
This kind of events are key to learn about leaders and experts on sustainability, as well as to meet with other entrepreneurs and share views on the new EU directive on this matter.
