Last Thursday, November 24, four professionals from Bové Montero y Asociados dedicated part of their morning to collaborate with the soup kitchens of Mensajeros de la Paz (Madrid) and Fundación Canpedró (Barcelona). This volunteering action was organized by the United Way Foundation and the US Chamber of Commerce in Spain, AMCHAM.
The United Way Spain Foundation is part of the United Way Worldwide network and has been operating in Spain since 2016 in the design and management of projects with social impact. On the other hand, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Spain (AmChamSpain) has almost 300 member companies and is responsible for organizing the Thanksgiving volunteering every year, since it is a significant date for the U.S. country.
Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated in the United States and Canada, where families and all members of the community gather around the table to share and give thanks.
For Colum Elkin, Consultant at Bové Montero, this activity is “a very enriching experience, with a very important message and Canpedró does an extraordinary job”.
Imma Muntané, Financial Director at Bové Montero, explains that it was an activity to repeat: “there was a peaceful atmosphere, and everything flowed in harmony, despite the intense work that is done in two hours.”
Moreover, Gema Pérez (Accounting Madrid) and Tatiana Duque (Tax Madrid) attended the soup kitchen of Mensajeros de la Paz in Madrid and were also delighted to be part of this action: “we loved the kindness and gratitude of the staff of the association, both volunteers and workers.”
We are proud to participate in solidarity actions that have an impact on society and to have our professionals so involved in them.
