The professional services firm Bové Montero y Asociados has appointed Beltrán Sánchez as manager of its new Transfer Pricing team. Sánchez has 15 years’ experience in transfer pricing consultancy at firms including PwC and, most recently, Deloitte.
Sánchez will help the firm’s Spanish offices to optimise their strategy in areas including integrated advice on transfer pricing policies, representation in tax inspection proceedings, assistance in mutual agreement procedures and dispute resolution, and the preparation of the Master File and the Country File for related-party transactions, with a particular focus on international groups.
Transfer pricing: in the Spanish tax authorities’ sights
Beltrán Sánchez warns that “in the current economic climate, the government’s need to efficiently engineer an increase in tax revenues puts the transfer pricing policy of multinational groups in the Spanish tax authorities’ sights”, with “tax inspectors becoming increasingly specialised” and “tax inspections in this area included in the government’s tax control plan”.
Sánchez emphasises the “high potential” that transfer pricing services represent for Bové Montero y Asociados considering the growing importance of international tax in the business world, adding “over 90% of our customers are based internationally with economic investments or business interests in this country”.
He adds that an important factor was “the fact that Bové Montero y Asociados belongs to the international HLB network, through which we regularly offer our services to companies with subsidiaries in different jurisdictions, with the particular tax and legal characteristics that this involves”.
Beltrán Sánchez’s educational background is with CUNEF, IE University, and the London School of Economics. Bové Montero y Asociados boasts a team of over 100 professionals at offices in Barcelona, Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, Sevilla, and Valencia.
